Jim and David love and appreciate the beautiful trees that give Manhattan Beach so much of its unique character and neighborhood feel. Both of us have lived in the Tree Section and developed beautiful homes (with beautiful trees) there.
David continues to own a Tree Section home, and is a member of the Manhattan Canopy Tree Committee. Moreover, he is a third generation woodworker whose hobby is designing and building fine furniture. He loves the tremendous beauty and variety of national and international hardwoods sourced, where possible, from sustainable forests.

Sadly, our city's over-reaching, politically-motivated tree ordinance is giving trees, and tree regulation, a bad name. Despite the controversy, we still love and enjoy trees.
